Gail Francis Smith RACINE Gail Francis Smith, 71, passed away early in the morning on July 2, 2014. Gail was born on November 13, 1942 in Cave-in-Rock, IL to Gerald and Cleone Smith. Gail was a graduate of Gateway Technical College and retired as a Systems Analyst from CNH after more than twenty years. Gail was a talented oil painter and woodworker. She was known as a creative soul, being quick to laugh. Gail was a member of Racine Art Guild, Racine Art Museum and "Geezers" Wednesday art group. Gail is survived by Susan Manalli and cat "Charlie"; Jack Manalli and Sara Manalli; her sister and brother, Sally Malven, Dan and Bev Smith; sister-in-law, Betty Smith; and her best friend, Janet Bell. Gail is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, William Sly; brother, Carl Smith; her special niece, Sandra Beyer; and Mary Lou Manalli. A memorial service for Gail will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a .
