Gail McCormick, 78, of Thousand Palms, Calif., peacefully passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at home, with his wife and daughters at his side. Gail was born on Jan. 2, 1938, in Arvada, Colo. He graduated from Westminster High School in Westminster, Colo., in 1956. Gail made his way to Alaska in 1959, where he was a long time realtor, on the board of Assets Inc. and a member of the Elks Club and the Captain Cook Jaycees. He lived in Anchorage, Alaska, until 1998, when he and his wife, Diane, moved to California to enjoy their retirement. Gail loved to come back to Alaska to fish and spend time with his grandkids. He loved to play golf, and to play games with his children and grandchildren, and he cooked them wonderful breakfasts. He was very generous and quite the character, and will be greatly missed. Gail is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane McCormick; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Dave Blakely, Kim and Andy Shields, and Arica and John Fabeck; grandchildren, Evan, Kyle, Tyler, Andrew, Bristol, JJ, Brynn, Kyra and Mara; and three great-grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth McCormick; and siblings, Leo, Wilma and Duane. Per Gail's request, there will be no service.
