Gary C. Doerflinger1941 - 2016Gary Doerflinger, 74, of Friendship, Wis., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at Merriter Hospital in Madison. Gary was born on Dec. 31, 1941, to Norma Marg. He was later adopted by Charles and Inger (Heide) Doerflinger of Somers, Wis.He graduated from Central High School, and served in the Army Reserves. Gary spent his life working as a machinist at MacWhyte, until his retirement.On April 25, 1964, he married Paula Munson and had three children. They later divorced. Gary married Sheila" Rusty" Long on Dec. 30, 1982. She preceeded him in death on Feb. 14, 1999.Gary married Linda Hill on Jan. 8, 2000, and retired to Friendship, Wis. He enjoyed watching football, hunting, fishing, playing pool, darts and enjoyed singing kareoke to Dean Martin songs. He loved spending time with the kids and grandkids. Gary is survived by his wife Linda of Friendship; sister, Lois (Tom) Mazur of Friendship; sister- in-law, Jeanne Marg of Weston, Wis.; daughter, Heide (David) Maginn of Kenosha; daughter, Suanne (John) Funk of Kenosha; grandchildren, Kim and Kristen Maginn, Laura, Dan and Sami Funk as well as several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by step-children, Lyle (Charlene) Franssen, Bill (Karlyn) Franssen, Josette Ott, Georgette (Darren) Tolley, Brent Eggleston, Dannette (Joseph) Wilson and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Marg; son, Gary John Doerflinger; niece, Linda Gitzlaff. A memorial service honoring the life of Gary will be held at First United Methodist Church (919 60th St. Kenosha WI) on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, Visitation at 9:30 a.m. Church service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
