Gary Lee Tenborg Gary was born on December 13, 1942 in Emmet County, Iowa, to Roy and Donna Tenborg. He attended country school by Wallingford, Iowa, and then attended and graduated from Gruver High School in 1960. Before joining the Air Force and being stationed at both Brindisi, Italy, and Offutt Air Base in Omaha, Nebraska, he lived with his Uncle Paul and Aunt Milli while attending the U of Iowa. In the late 1960s, he moved to Washington State, where he married and divorced. He attended the
University of Washington and received his Master's Degree in Physics Research. Although none of the jobs he had throughout the years put that education to practical use, he continued learning new things. He was our resident Renaissance man, enjoying math, astronomy, opera, philosophy, a good comic book, as well as "trains and boats and planes." He enjoyed life, and he enjoyed sharing it with his friends. He also enjoyed good food and drink, and that's what eventually brought him down. Gary passed away November 10, 2016 in Tacoma, Washington, at age 73. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Mark. He is survived by many terrific friends who made life wonderful; his cousin, George Tenborg and family of Mt. Vernon, Washington, who he spent many good times with throughout the years; nieces, Kari and Kasi (Mark's girls); other cousins, and an aunt and uncle; sisters, Gayle Tenborg of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and little sister, Anne (Bish) and Will Taylor of Albert Lea, Minnesota.
