Gary Oscar Pitman69, of Pendleton, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Gary was born on February 23, 1947, in Liberty, Kentucky, to Oscar and Nannie Pitman, who preceded him in death. He attended Salem High School, graduating in 1965. At Purdue University, he attained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Following college, he served in the US Army Reserves and began his career at General Motors, where he stayed until retirement. Gary married Peggy Diane Page; she preceded him in death.Gary is survived by his wife, Alicia Pitman; children, Alexander Pitman and Sarah Pitman (Wunji); sisters, Lorene Roberts, Peggy Martin, and Bonnie Sage; and a granddaughter, Ellen Lau.Graveside service will be Saturday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m., at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Block K, 6805 Doctor MLK Jr Blvd, Anderson, IN 46013. Arrangements at Loose Funeral Home, Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gleaners Food Bank.
