YORK Gayle M. Shank, 81, died October 31, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of Charles R. "Bud" Shank. They were married for 57 years. Gayle was born on June 28, 1933 in York Haven, a daughter of the late Roy and Maude Anna (Lake) Poe. She worked for Borg-Warner for 17 years. She sang with the country music group, Dale and the Country Gentleman. The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Judith McKee officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a son, Darryll E. Tome, husband of Lorrie of Manchester; three daughters, Judith Smith of Manchester, Chanda Lang, wife of Karl, of York, and Wahnell L. Venable, wife of Ronald, of York;10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Lamparter of Lancaster; and everal nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James W.
