Mr. Gene Aubrey Balderson, 77, of Frederick passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 10, 2016. He was the loving husband of Gladys Balderson for 55 years. He was born on July 17, 1939 in Virginia to the late Victor Balderson, Sr. and Gladys Krantz Barker. Gene was a Sales Manager at Sears for 35 years. He was a well known and loved man throughout the community. In his spare time, he loved doing plumbing projects for the elderly in Washington DC. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling in his motorhome, his old antique car, and collecting trucks. He helped his daughter and son start up Family Auto Repair in Frederick 21 years ago. His greatest love was his family, taking care of his wife, and spending as much time as possible with the grand kids. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter; Darlene Sue Balderson and Jonathan. Son; Jeffery Gene Balderson. Grandchildren; Scotty and wife Amanda, Andrew and fiance Jamie, Terri, Amie, Curtis, and Dawnie. Great-grandchildren; Brett, Kody, Austin, Ty, Adriana, Jaxen, and Owen. Step-brother; Jerry Smith. Special Friends; Tom Wolff and Flo. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother; Victor and sister-in-law; Gladys Balderson. Step-brother; Gene Smith. And stepmom; Eva Smith. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 2-5 PM at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick. On Monday, November 14th a visitation will be held at Calvary Assembly of God, 8234 Woodsboro Pike, Walkersville from 9-10 AM where a service will begin at 10. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Veterans II. In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation be made to the in Gene's name.
