Gene Russell BoundsGene Russell Bounds, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was born on February 5, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Dan and Earlene Bounds. Gene was a gentle giant who loved all animals and his family with his whole heart. He had a great love for good food, good friends, and the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite hobby was spending time fishing with his lifelong buddies and his grandsons.He was preceded in death by his parents.Gene is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jo Bounds of Shreveport; one daughter, Dr. Abbie Kemper-Martin and husband Terry Martin; two loving grandchildren, Thomas Walker Carroll Martin and William Harper Martin; brother Danny Bounds and wife Judy, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank lifelong friends Larry Henson and Richard Lewis for their love and support over the last few months.Services will be conducted in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church at 2pm Thursday, February 16, 2017 with Rev. Dr. Chris Currie and Rev. Seth Saathoff officiating. In lieu of flowers the family and friends request donations be made to St. Jude's or the NWL Humane Society.
