Gene P. BuchananZANESVILLE: Gene P. Buchanan, 86 of Zanesville, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at his home. Gene was born on June 11, 1930 in Chandlersville, the son of the late Perl and Leah Fern (Taylor) Buchanan.Gene worked 39 Years for Sears and Roebuck in Zanesville and for Buchanan Auctions. He was a big supporter of the Red Cross and he donated over 19 gallons of blood. He was a faithful member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.Gene is survived by his four children Sandra Buchanan of Zanesville, David and Maggie Buchanan of Zanesville, Sharon and Ernie Boggs of Philo and Nancy and Wayne Lestock of Cumberland; his grandchildren, Mark (Kelly) Lee, Michael (Carrie) Lee, Scott (Heather) Lee, Chad (Shelley) Buchanan, Joshua (Cindy) Boggs, Angela (Julie Troglia) Boggs, Justin (Danielle) Lestock, Steven (Katy) Lestock and Phillip Lestock and eleven great-grandchildren.Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife Inabelle Buchanan who passed away Sept. 17, 2012 and his six siblings Herbert, Dayle, Joseph, George, Kenneth Buchanan and Edith Farus.Please make memorial contributions in Gene's honor to either Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church or to Genesis Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Gene at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held 11 am on Tuesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 400 Pleasant Grove Road, Zanesville with Pastor Linda Morrow and Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.
