On the morning of November 6, 2018, the angel of silence entered the room of Genenive McKnight Wright at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Her soul winged its flight from this earthly world to a peaceful dwelling of eternal rest.
Born September 15, 1939, the youngest girl of ten children born to Junious and Lena Neal McKnight. Four sisters and five brothers preceded her in death. She attended Franklin Country Training School. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Nelson Chapel Baptist Church as a child. She was affectionately known as "Genny" and "BIG G" to her great-grandchildren. On June 26, 1955 she was joined in holy matrimony to Alex McKinley Wright and to this union 13 children were born. She was preceded in death by the twins who died as infants, son, Alex M. Wright Jr., daughters, Maxine Wright, and Bettie L. Wright, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Alex M. Wright Sr., daughters: Annie Bell Wright-Freeman(of the home), Ella Louise Wright( of Louisburg, NC), Melissa Wright-Conyers(Travis) of Wake Forest, NC. Sister-niece-daughter, Willie Bell Lawrence (of Louisburg, NC.) Sons: Anthony R. Wright (of Louisburg,NC), Robert E. Wright (Karen) of Warrenton,NC, Stephon Wright(Rhonda) of Henderson,NC, Carl D. Wright and Tony C. Wright (both of the home), Victor L. Wright(Freda) of Franklinton,NC, Patrick D. Wright(Stephanie) of Marietta,GA, Gregory Perry(Teresa) of Henderson,NC, and Delente K. Williams( of the home.) A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, four sister-n-laws, and one brother-in-law. Special friends: Phil Harris, Lucy Henry, and Ms.Pig.
