Gennie King, 87, of Auburn, Alabama, passed on May 30, 2023. Gennie was born on January 26, 1936. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 3rd, 2023 at the First Baptist Church at 10:00am , 128 E glen avenue .Mrs. Gennie Mae King was born in auburn, Alabama , as the daughter of the last Mr. Wesley Stephens and the late Mrs. Annie Mae Stephens.
Mrs. King, known as "Mother King", was an amazing mother, a wonderful grandmother, and a loveable great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, auntie and friend. Mrs. Gennie never met a stranger and always loved to share her life stories with everyone she encountered. She loved to cook and to pour her heart into every dish she prepared. She was a classy well-dressed woman of style who always had a matching hat to compliment her attire.
Mrs. Gennie Mae King loved the Lord with all of her heart, and she loved reading the word of God as well to cook and to feed the people of God. To know Mrs. Gennie Mae King was to love her because she was just so loveable. Mrs. King passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 30, 2023
Mrs. Gennie Mae King is survived by a devoted daughter, granddaughter and caregiver, Tammy (Steven) Belk, grandchildren, Jonathan (Stacy) Whitehead, Curtis Whitehead, Jr., Erica Whitehead, Denise (James) Smith, Todd Whitehead, and Daryl Wayne Elliott, Great grand children, devoted friends and church members including Calen (Freddie) Pooler, devoted neighbors, including Carol Payne, Lorine Pauldo, and Carlton Brown. Mrs. King was blessed with amazing caregivers, Felicia Pierce, Ona Scrutchins, Barbara Beasley, LaPaula Willis, Mary Jo. Stanley, Tara Sumblin, Tajuana Ajeroh, Lisa Trimmings, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
