BURKHARD – Michael C. “Geno,” 79, Johnstown, passed away Mar. 7, 2024, at home. Born Feb. 19, 1945, in Johnstown, son of Charles H. and Elvira M. (Pantano) Burkhard. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Patricia (Weimman) Burkhard; infant daughter, Bridget; sisters, Constance Mills and Catherine Jones; and brothers, Anthony Burkhard and twin brother Charles E. "Geno" Burkhard. Survived by children, Charles, Robin(Gartrell), Patricia(Vazquez), Eugene, Michael, Emily and Mary Elizabeth; and nine grandchildren. Brother of Mathilda Lockhard, Donald, Philip and Rose Burkhard. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Geno was a Labor Union employee with Local 911. He had a love for antiques and collectibles. He was affectionately known as Uncle Geno or Uncle Punky by many. Member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Matthew Misurda. Private committal at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. Private viewing ceremony for family members will be discussed amongst the family.
