George Curtis Jr. 95, died peacefully in his sleep on May 3, 2023 at the home of his granddaughter Lageria Curtis in Jacksonville, Fl.
He was born August 8, 1927 in a small town called Hague, located in Alachua county. The son of George and Rosa Curtis. George had 5 brothers and 5 sisters. George worked many years as a farmer. He later retired from work in 2004.
He married his wife Anna Curtis in 1982. They celebrated 30 + years of marriage before her passing. He was a loyal member of the Holy Temple Church in High Springs Florida. His hobbies included: fishing, gardening, drinking COLD coca-cola's, spending hours a day sitting at McDonald's, sitting on his front porch, and visiting his sister Laura before her passing.
George resided at 15610 NW 134th terrace, Alachua, Florida. Where he shared a home with his wife Anna. In addition to his parents and wife, George had 6 children. 4 girls and 2 boys.
Daughters: Cynthia, Angie, Brenda, and Cherry Curtis. Sons: Gregory and Shawn Curtis.
George also had a total of 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. George embodied righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness, a true man of God.
A viewing will be held 11 a.m. Friday May 12, 2023 at Westside Church of God in Christ located at
15535 NW 141 ST, ALACHUA, FL 32615 from
11:00 am - 1:00 pm followed by a burial at Forest Meadows. On behalf of the family We like to say thank you for the calls, texts, and visits. We appreciate each and everyone of them.
