George C. Sepulvida, 88, passed away peacefully February 7, 2016 at home in Manteca. He was born January 24, 1928 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the youngest of 13 children. Growing up in Hawaii, he survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. Moving to California in 1954, he was a longtime resident of Newark and Mill Valley.
George and his former wife Katherine Sepulvida were loving parents to five children. In 1992, he married Jacqueline Sepulvida and his family grew by three step children who loved George as another Dad.
He went to work at Pearl Harbor during World War II, and retired from the Naval Air Station at Alameda in 1983, working his way up to Aircraft Supervisor. A naturally gifted musician, over the years George played guitar in several bands that played Hawaiian and Puerto Rican music throughout Hawaii and the Bay Area, including for a time with Hawaiian Airlines.
George is preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Sepulvida and his former wife Katherine Sepulvida. He is survived by his children, Kathy Camacho, Georgette Martin, George A. Sepulvida, Sharon Silva, and Claudia Rosenbusch; step children Debbie Gonzalez , Art Mills, and Keith Mills; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He always had a “God bless you” for everyone.
