George was born September 9, 1951 in a small country town called Hollandale, Mississippi. He was raised by his grandmother, Pearline Dixon. George was the baby of six other siblings including four boys, and two girls.

George married his high school sweetheart, Linda Cross, and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1976. George was a good husband and father of three beautiful girls, Kendra Cross, Shanquetta Cross, and Latarsha Cross.

George leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda; his two brothers, Nathaniel Cross, Robert Cross; and his sister, Barbara White. George would like to be remembered for being the best PawPaw ever. He loved his grandchildren Paris Sykes, Nasir Tucker, Marquis Cross and Amir Harris.

We realize the great loss in our lives of George's departing, but in the midst of our sorrow, the words of God continues to give us comfort and strength. George will be deeply missed but forever loved and remembered.
