George H. Rausch passed away on November 29, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 22, 1927 in Vienna, Austria and emigrated to New York in 1939 with his family, escaping capture during the Holocaust. After quickly learning English, and completing high school at night while working to help support the family during the day, he went on to get his BS from New York University, MS from Columbia and back to New York University for his PhD. He enjoyed a long successful career in the candy industry, serving as President of Mason Candies in Mineola, NY and Vice President of Schraffts Candy Company in Charlestown, MA. He also founded American Business Centers, allowing small companies to share office space and resources, which was a new concept in the 1970s. He and his wife retired comfortably in Boca Raton, Florida in 1990 enjoying their pleasures: traveling the world and book collecting. Besides his wife of 62 years, Helen Rausch (Stern), he is survived by his brother Erwin, his children, Debbie Feitler, Doug Rausch and his wife Ronni, as well as 5 grandchildren, Erica and Lindsay Feitler, Jeff, Danni and Anna Rausch.
