George "Tinkey" Wathen, 47, of Jacksonville, Florida, went fishing in the great beyond on July 25, 2024. Known for his infectious laughter and love of the sea, Tinkey was born on September 6, 1977, to Eugene Wathen and deceased mother Betty Jo Krause. Survived by his brother Robert Lloyd Brown and his wife Bridget O'Rourke Wathen married 4/13/2002. Although they were separated the memories they shared with friends and family will always be deeply missed.

Tinkey worked as a commercial fisherman, where he honed his skills and passion for the ocean. When he wasn't on the water, he was always with his friends and family he could always be found casting his line in his favorite fishing spots, with a grin on his face. Although Tinkey has reeled in his last catch, his legacy and love for the sea will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace Tinkey you will forever be loved and missed by many. Please join his family for his memorial service with ocean burial on Saturday 10/05/24 at 3:30 pm service will start @4 at Alamacani State Park 11080 Heckscher Dr. Jacksonville FL 32226 light food and refreshments will be served.
