George Richard AbrahamGeorge Richard Abraham (Buddy) passed away on August 1, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon Abraham and Iva Lee House Abraham, and son-in-law Paul Ralph Jennings. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of almost 64 years, Emily Ann Bell Abraham; his son Charles Abraham, and his wife Maria Sbrocco Abraham of Dallas; his daughter Linda Jennings Garrison and her husband Gerald Garrison of Baton Rouge; his daughter Mary Beth Armstrong and her husband, Keith Armstrong; his nine grandchildren Jennifer Jennings Gibson and her husband Joe Gibson, Lee Abraham, Bobby Jennings, Brett Abraham, Emily Jennings, Christian Armstrong, William Armstrong, Elizabeth Armstrong, and Ashley Abraham; Step grandson Chris Garrison; Great grandson Wesley Gibson; and sisters Caroline Halliburton and Loraine Nicholson, as well as many other family members and friends.Buddy was born on January 17, 1931 in Indianola, Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi State in 1954 and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity where he served as Rush Chairman. He met the love of his life, Emily Ann Bell his senior year in College. Upon completing college, he worked at Halliburton Oil Company, Mississippi State Entomology department and The United State Department of Agriculture, Fish and Wildlife service as a state supervisor then as the district supervisor. Later he worked as the regional director of USDA Animal Damage Control and was over 33 Eastern States. He received many awards for his service before he retired in December of 1991. Buddy was a good man who took care of his family and was a great friend to so many people. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tennis, golf and Mississippi State football and baseball. He also loved his Friday night group at the Country Club of Louisiana. We will miss him deeply and always be thankful for his adventurous spirit, kindness, sense of humor, generosity and especially for the great life he gave his family.
