George V. RospertWOODVILLE: George V. Rospert, age 83, of Woodville, OH passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 11, 1933 in Reedtown, OH to John and Rose (Sturm) Rospert. On February 23, 1952 he married Barbara LaVine in Milan, OH, and they would raise 6 children together. George and his wife built and ran the Woodville Dairy Isle from 1957 to 1983. All the while he worked for Star Vending in Toledo until he would eventually retire. Among his many interests he enjoyed wintering in Florida; he belonged to the Sand Beach Association in Oak Harbor and the Fremont Moose Lodge. He was known as "Mr. Fix It" by those that knew him, as he loved to tinker and could fix just about anything. He was a man of very devout faith and proud member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. He held a strong devotion for the Blessed Mother and a very empathetic caring heart for the poor of our society. He will especially be remembered for the love of his family and the very active role he played in the lives of his children, grand children and great grandchildren. George is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Barbara, children: George Michael (Susan) Rospert of Pinehurst, NC, Robert Eugene (Dawn) Rospert of Woodville, OH, Catherine Ann (Chip) Overmyer of Fremont, OH, Richard Allen (Joyce) Rospert Woodville, OH, Mark Edward (Amy) Rospert of Oak Harbor, OH and Jeffery David (Mary Jo) Rospert of Catawba, OH, 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and brother: Wilfred "Bud" (Dorothy) Rospert of Huron, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Juanita Pittenger and Thelma Jacobs.Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 25, 2016, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street, Woodville, OH were the Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa with additional visitation from 9:00 AM until time of services. Celebrant will be Father Timothy Ferris. Interment will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Fremont, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served in the fellowship hall of St. Ann Catholic Church located at 1021 W. State Street in Fremont immediately following the cemetery committal services.
