George Vinson Ross, age 81, of Smyrna, DE passed away at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.He was born on July 25, 1935 in Clayton, DE, the son of the late George and Mary Ross. Mr. Ross served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corp.He retired from Civil Service at Dover Air Force Base.George enjoyed going to auction sales and antiquing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Bobbie Jean Ross; and his brother, Charles Ross. He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Candy Coker and her husband Ricky of Hartly, DE and Tracy Hamburg and her husband Billy of Smyrna, DE; his sister, Mary Sue Ross of Smyrna; his brother, Frank Ross of Smyrna; two granddaughters, Mandy Coleman and Stacy Kassien and her husband Tim; two grandsons, Dereck Coker and Buddy Hamburg; six great grandchildren, Kaytlyn, Brooklyn, Kaysey, Trevor, Karmyn and Scarlett.A graveside burial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
