George William RobinetteGeorge William Robinette, 82, of Greenhill, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 2:15 p.m. at his residence. George was born on April 26, 1934 in Brown County to the late Roy and Katherine (Harrison) Robinette. George married Marjorie Ann Shamp on April 7, 1956, and she preceded him in death on July 12, 2014. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1955. George worked in maintenance for a local apartment complex. He enjoyed playing guitar, and use to play in several bands. He also enjoyed Country music, visiting and having coffee with friends, mushroom hunting. George loved to tinker, especially with his beloved car, his Chrysler 87 5th Avenue, better known as The Limo!Surviving are 3 children, Jennie (husband: Bob) Batta of Lafayette, William (wife: Glenda) Robinette of Rossville, and Robert Robinette of Otterbein. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Rob (Roz) Batta of Otterbein, Heather Garis of Lafayette, Troy Robinette of Delphi, Tim Robinette of Rossville, Kelli (Walter) Cornelius, Bonny Lake of Washington state, and Dallas Robinette of Lafayette, 12 great grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law, Patricia Robinette.He is preceded in death by one son, Clifton Robinette, one sister, Joan Lowman, and one step-sister, Sara Webb.The family would like to thank all of George's caregivers, including Billy Brooks, Crystal Bucher, Sam Yoacum, and Chad Hair for all the love and care.Services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Simplicity Funeral Care with Chaplain Chad Hair officiating.
