Blackburn, GeorgiaGeorgia Ruth Blackburn, age 78, of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. She was born on December 17, 1938 the daughter of the late Herman and Ruth (Pollack) Kallin. Georgia worked many years as a nurse's aide at the state hospital and nursing homes around the Oshkosh area. After her retirement she became a caregiver for the elderly. She always thought of others before herself. Georgia is survived by her sons: Joseph Madel of Clinton, Tennessee and Glenn Blackburn, Jr. (Sandra Bartelt) of Green Bay; sisters: Linda (Dan) Ruedinger of Oshkosh and Karen (Allyn) Schrank of Tucson, AZ; brother, Karl (Barb) Kallin; three grandchildren: Zachery (Aly) Madel, Ghoji (Kayla) Blackburn and their children: Brady and Jackson, and Aleah McConnell-Blackburn and her daughter, Lilee Mae; and many nieces and nephews. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Blackburn; parents, Herman and Ruth Kallin; three sisters: Lois Horejs, Nancy Konitzer, and Jane Ferch; and nieces: Billie Jean Schrank and Dorothy Mapes. Georgia's special friends include: Chase and Megan Blackburn, Madonna Sunderman, Bonnie Denis, George and Irene Wood, Debbie Madel, Mary Roberts, Debbie Wagner, Suzy Fischer, Berdine Schroeder, and C.J. and Fran from Visiting Angels. A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Seefeld Funeral Home, with Chaplain Matt Cornelius officiating. Burial will be at Wilhelmina Cemetery, Town of Black Wolf. Glenn, Jr. extends a special thank you to the special caregiver's at Kindred Hearts Senior Living Facility who took great care of his mother. They went out of their way to make sure she had the best care and compassion that anyone could receive.
