Georgia Lucille GilliamSan AngeloGeorgia Lucille Gilliam went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017. She was 92. Georgia was born on Aug. 11, 1924, in Knox City, Texas to George and Bessie Hunter. She married Robert Stanley Gilliam on Feb. 8, 1947, and the two were married for 67 years. Lucille was a longtime resident of San Angelo where she owned and operated a beauty shop. After the birth of her son, she spent the next 50 years working in the church nursery at College Hills Baptist Church.She is survived by her son Dwain Gilliam and wife Joy; grandchildren Paul Gilliam, Caitlin Gilliam and future grandson-in-law Nick McGuire; sister-in-laws Jean Gilliam and Bobbie Huffman; brother-in-law Glyn Gilliam and wife Martha; numerous nieces and nephews, including Pat Williams and Edwina Martin.The Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at College Hills Baptist Church, San Angelo, Texas, Rex Stephenson officiating.
