Gerald Glenn LaceyGreen Valley, AZ(formerly of East Lansing MI)Was born to eternal life to live in the house of the Lord on January 14, 2017.Gerald ("Jerry") was born on September 18, 1934, the son of Harry and Kathleen Lacey. He was raised with three brothers in Detroit, Michigan where after completing High School continued on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy earning a Bachelor's Degree in business.Jerry served two years in the U.S. Army as an administrative specialist, earning a decoration as a sharpshooter.He met his future wife, Jean Averill MacGregor, in 1965 and they married in 1967. Living in East Lansing, Michigan, they raised two sons, Michael and Mark.Jerry and Jean retired to the Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and after enjoying that area for nine years decided to relocate to Green Valley, Arizona in 2005. They enjoyed the many activities in the area, especially the Tucson Pops concerts. Jerry was predeceased by Jean in 2011.Jerry's interest in entrepreneurship began when as a teenager he joined an investment club. He went on to later found multiple businesses, culminating in a financial services company which he ran from the early 1980's until his retirement.Over the years Jerry looked forward to visits from his sons Michael and Mark, Michael's wife Mary, and his grandchildren, Morgan and Miles. Jerry was thrilled upon learning that he would be a great-grandfather and had an opportunity to meet his great-granddaughter via teleconference just weeks before his passing.It was Jerry's wish that in lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions be made in his name to the CurePSP Foundation ( psp.org) or the Lupus Foundation of America ( lupus.org).Visitation will be Sunday, January 22nd from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. The funeral will be held Monday, January 23rd at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 with one hour of visitation prior.
