Gerald Richards Koski Known as Jerry by his friends and family, died on March 2, 2017, in Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 79. Jerry was born on July 4, 1937, to Lt. Col. William Koski and Helen (Richards) in Rock Springs, Wyoming. After living in Cheyenne, Wyoming, his family settled in Tacoma, Washington. Jerry graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1956, where he was President of DECA. Jerry worked for 20 years in the retail menswear business, first as a salesman and general manager for Bernie Brotman, then as the owner of three F.G.F stores. Jerry represented several clothing lines before teaming up with Otta Ma in 1982, to form M'Otto, a young men's sportswear line. As M'otto's Director of Design and Merchandising , Jerry led the expansion to both women's wear and boys apparel. Under his vision and guidance, M'Otto grew to a $40M+ business in his nine years with the company. Fashion was not Jerry's only passion. A devoted fan of all sports, Jerry was a season ticket holder for the Seattle Mariners for 37 years, making annual trips to watch Spring Training in Arizona for 32 years with his brother Bill. Jerry is survived by his brothers Bill Jr. and Bob; his sister-in-law, Dee Dee; nieces Susan, Katrina, Terri Luckie, and Pam McCormick; nephews Jerry R., Bob, Jeff Macaluso, and Brian Macaluso; his beloved, constant canine companion Chester; long-time friend Kraig Nelson, who considered Jerry his surrogate father; as well as numerous friends whose lives Jerry touched with his humor, kindness, and generosity. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Helen, his sister Patty Macaluso, and nephew Bill Koski. A Memorial will be held on May 7, 2017, 11am 3pm, at Anthony's Homeport in Des Moines, WA.
