Richardson, Gerald "Jerry" Lee Beloved husband, father, "papa," brother, and friend, Jerry Richardson passed away in Gilbert, AZ on October 25, 2016. He was born on January 3, 1947 in Duluth, MN. After his family relocated to California, Jerry attended North High in Torrance, where he captained the wrestling team and earned an athletic scholarship to CSU Northridge. He served bravely in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967, later receiving a
purple heart for the wounds he suffered in battle. He recovered from his injuries to work for the Brea Fire Department in Orange County, CA, moving through the ranks from Fire Fighter to Fire Engineer and Paramedic before his retirement in 2001. After two years of dating, he married Jeri Lind Richardson (nee Parker) on September 18, 1982 in Lake Tahoe, CA. Jerry and Jeri loved fishing, golfing, skiing, biking, and hiking; they also travelled widely after his retirement, visiting Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Costa Rica together. But most of all, they enjoyed being at home with family. The two were truly soul mates during their 36 years together and will remain so forever. Jerry is survived by his wife; mother, Dorothy; sister, Joanne, and her husband, Walt; brother-in-law, John Parker, and his wife, Molly; brother-in-law, Jim Parker; sons, Jeff Richardson and Kirk Lambert, and their wives, Teresa and Traci; daughters, Denise Deline and Nicole Bixby, and their husbands, Scott and Patrick; and his loving grandchildren: Troy, Brandon, and Justin Richardson; Cooper and Delaney Lambert; Kaylee and Gavin Deline; and Claire and Owen Bixby. A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends on January 3, 2017.
