Gerald Edward RoseberryONTARIO: Gerald Edward Roseberry, 67, of Ontario passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Louis Stokes VA Center in Cleveland. Gerald was born on May 27, 1950 in Mansfield to Walter and Helen (Haynes) Roseberry. Gerald lived his life for his grandchildren, they were his world. He enjoyed all sports, but baseball and softball topped the list as most of his life was spent on the field playing, coaching and co-coaching with his son Ryan. Then there were fast cars, especially his love for his 396 Chevelle. At the age of 16, he won a first place trophy racing a 442 Oldsmobile in Norwalk, OH at Dragway 42. Lastly, he was famous for his "Yogi Stew" while camping, another love of his life. Gerald proudly served in the US Marines and attended Lincoln Heights Baptist Church.He is survived by his devoted lifelong companion and best friend, Cynthia A. Roseberry; his son, Ryan (Lesley) Roseberry; his mother, Helen L. (Haynes) Roseberry; grandchildren, Isabella, Alexander and Madelyn Roseberry; sisters, Barbara Garrigues and Darlene (Jeff) Dill; many beloved aunts, nieces and nephews; and two special families very dear to him, the Gessling family from Mansfield and the Cains family from Reno, NV and Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter B. Roseberry; his brothers, James and Richard Roseberry; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Garrigues.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12-1pm on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Mike Wilson will follow immediately at 1pm at the funeral home.
