Geraldine D. Dunne, age 81, a resident of Holmen, Wisconsin, formerly of Two Rivers, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI, where she had been a patient for 13 days.Geraldine was born on July 16, 1930 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late George R. and Catherine M. (Vercouteren) Lubach. She graduated from North High School, Class of 1948 in Sheboygan and from Milwaukee School of Nursing in 1951. On July 14, 1952 she was united in marriage to Paul E. Hagan in Sheboygan and had 5 children with this marriage. They divorced October 19, 1970 in LaCrosse. She married Desmond J. Dunne November 20, 1970 in Rockford, Illinois. Desmond adopted all 5 of her children. She dedicated her life to her career as a registered nurse for 46 years, retiring in 1994. She worked at Ripon Hospital, Ripon, St. Frances Hospital, Skemp Grandview Clinic, Bethany Riverside, Bethany St. Joseph, VNA, all in LaCrosse and Park Lawn Nursing Home in Manitowoc. She enjoyed bowling, playing accordion, playing piano, sewing and creating numerous craft items, drawing & illustrations and was a Scout Leader for her son's scout troop.She is survived by her 5 children: Barbara J. Dunne, Mission Viejo, CA, Scott (Kitty Meyer) Dunne, LaCrosse, Phyllis (James) Schnettler, Sheboygan Falls, Patricia (Rick) Herman, Whitelaw, Mark (Jill) Dunne, Holmen; 4 grandchildren: David Schnettler, Mark (Tricia) Schnettler, Rachel Dunne, Allison Dunne; a sister: Bernice (Ken) Sabrowsky, Howards Grove; a sister-in-law: Doris Lubach, Sheboygan; and a brother-in-law: Maurice (Alice) Dunne, Uxbridge, MA. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends and her beloved pet Susie, also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Paul Hagan, June 21, 2011; her second husband: Desmond J. Dunne, December 28, 1997; her parents: George and Catherine Lubach; sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth (Harold) Mulder, Edith (Joseph) Cykana, Carol M. (Roger) Spelshaus; brothers and sisters-in-law: Carl J. (Della) Lubach, George W. Lubach and an infant brother: Harold Lubach.Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Richard Runge. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011. Friends may also call Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.In lieu of flowers, if preferred contributions would be appreciated to Gundersen Lutheran Hospice. We would like to thank the staff of ICU, the Palliative and Hospice unit and all of her physicians for their compassionate and supportive care through this difficult time. They have left an imprint on our hearts.
