Geraldine (Gerry) Gloria Jenkins1925-2016Geraldine (Gerry) Gloria Jenkins, 91, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on September 9, 2016. She was born on July 28, 1925, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Ervan Omer Crewse and Hulda Johnston Crewse. She graduated Class of 1943 from Ponca City High School. In 1948, she received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma Baptist University. She married Walter (Walt) Daniel Jenkins on November 25, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1987.Mrs. Jenkins taught music at Lincoln Elementary in Ponca City and private piano and organ lessons in her home. She was the organist and pianist for many churches, beginning with First Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church in Ponca City as a teenager, and including places as far away as the American Church in Cairo, Egypt. She lived in and traveled to many countries with her engineer husband, Walter, including London, England; Aberdeen, Scotland; and Cairo, Egypt. God continued to bless her with opportunities to play music in her later years, playing for worship services and birthday lunches in her retirement community and for listening ears in the hallway outside her assisted living apartment. Playing music gave her spirit great joy and peace.Mrs. Jenkins was a devoted and much loved wife, mother, and friend. She pointed many to Jesus and His love, especially through her music. She is sorely missed by those left behind who wait with anticipation for the great reunion coming in heaven.Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Daniel Jenkins; parents; and sisters, Holly Unruh and Pauline Crewse. She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Arnold and husband Byrle of Round Rock; Becky Kuguenko and husband Greg of Round Rock; Jill Moore and husband Michael of Plano; grandchildren, Sarah Shields and husband John, Keith Arnold, Shannon Kuguenko and husband Evan Phillips, Kelsey Moore and Kathryn Moore.Contributions in memory of Geraldine G.
