Geraldine Margaret "Gerry" Flood, 90, passed away in peace, fully content in the Lord, Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. She joins her husband and the love of her life, Lloyd, in eternal life. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Agape Baptist Church, 3900 Southwest Blvd., Fort Worth, 817-923-6800. Gerry was born on Nov. 12, 1925, in Oklahoma City, Okla., and was the beloved only child of Nancy Lena West Cornette. Gerry met her husband, Lloyd, at a church picnic while they were still in high school. She married her sweetheart when she was 17 years old, he 18, and faithfully supported him as a devoted wife, mother, and partner in all things throughout their 70-year marriage. In addition to being a Navy wife during World War II, she was also always game for moving to multiple cities and states in support of Lloyd's 35-year career at Montgomery Ward. Gerry had a lifelong passion for the Lord, all things family, beloved friends, helping others, and baseball. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, serving as the leader of various United Methodist Women's circles, and either spearheading or helping with anything at any church she ever attended. Gerry was bright, passionate, funny, loving, and tender, and often got a kick out of a well-played practical joke. She will be remembered, loved, and greatly missed by her family and friends.
