Gerd Peter Schmidt aka Enzo, 65, passed away at his home in El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. He was born on November 17,1951 in Dresden, Germany, to Rolf and Gerta Schmidt. He served in the German Airforce for 15 years as an Electronic Technician and retired from the German Airforce as a Master Sergant in 1984. He went on to open his own business, GPS International Automotive, in El Paso, Texas in 1985. His passions were his love for his dog Jasmine, family and friends, Formula 1 Racing and being a member of the German motorcycle club. He is survived by daughters, Marcella Schmidt, Michaela Schmidt, Jeannette Schmidt. Grandchildren, Christopher Gutierrez, Isaiah Schmidt, Abigail Schmidt, Nathan Schmidt, Alana Redmon. Mother of children, Irene Talamantes. Nephews, Marco Preub, Michael Schmidt. And sister in law, Angelika Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolf and Gerta Schmidt and brothers, Frank and Ralph Schmidt. Visitation will be Monday, January 9th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Drive. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 10th at 11:00 am at Cielo Vista Church.
