Gerri Keller Carter, age 53, passed away Feb. 7, 2015, in the couple's second home in Beaver Dam, Arizona, with her husband at her side. Gerri was born on Nov. 3, 1961, in Preston, Idaho, to Ruel Smith and Shirley Henderson Keller. She married Kent Loveless on July 11, 1986, in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed for a short time with an infant daughter Jenna Camille Loveless, born Nov. 8, 1989. They were later divorced.Gerri attended school in Preston, later graduating high school. She attended Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, where she received her Associates Degree. She moved to Logan, Utah, in 1982, where she worked at Wilson Motor for 16 years. In 1998 Gerri decided she didn't want to live through another cold Cache Valley winter so she headed off to sunny and much warmer St. George, Utah, where she was employed by the city of St. George. There she met and later married the love of her life, Rod Carter. Gerri and Rod began their amazing life together on March 18, 2000, at the beautiful Tuacahn in Ivans, Utah. From this marriage Gerri became a loving mother to Jerran, Andrew and Alyssa Carter, who she loved very much, and they simply adored her. Gerri was employed at SkyWest Airline Corporate Office in St. George at the time of her death.Gerri was very kind, soft spoken and loved by so many people. She had a bubbly personality and a beautiful smile. She battled a difficult and rare cancer from 2008 with grace, dignity and an amazing positive attitude.Gerri is survived by her loving husband, Rod; mother, Shirley Keller of Preston; children: Jerran (Megan) Carter of St. George; Andrew (Blakeley) Carter of Taylorsville; Alyssa Carter of Mesquite, Nevada; sisters Tammie (Joe) Benson of Logan; Kristi (Jim) Westover of Clifton, Idaho; Kallin (Grant) Gordon of Whitney, Idaho. Gerri had eight very loving grandchildren. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her as much as she loved them. Gerri was preceded in death by her loving father and infant daughter.Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 S. 100 West in Richfield. Friends may call for a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Sunset 4th Ward Chapel, 820 N. Valley View Drive, in St. George, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Magleby Mortuary.
