GERRILYN MARIE BECKSTED Gerrilyn Marie (Reynolds) Becksted was a beloved wife, mother, noni and friend. She passed away peacefully at her Eureka home with her family by her side on December 1, 2016 at the age of 66. She was born on February 10, 1950 in San Francisco, California. She was one of five children to Charles and Gloria Reynolds. She was raised in Pacifica, California where she attended Terra Nova High School. During high school she met the love of her life, Douglas Becksted. Gerrilyn graduated high school in 1968 and then attended Nursing School in San Francisco, California. When Douglas returned from Vietnam in 1969, they were married in Kansas City Missouri. She and Douglas moved to Los Angeles, California in 1970 where they had their first child Aaron in 1973. They then moved to San Francisco where they had their second child Nathan in 1974. Douglas and Gerrilyn then moved their family to Eureka, California in 1978 where she worked for Eureka Family Practice for many years. In 1980 they were blessed with a set of twins D.J. and Kristin. Gerrilyn was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Becksted, her parents Charles and Gloria Reynolds, her sister Pamela Trantham and her grandson Brydon Becksted. She is survived by her son Aaron Becksted and wife Heather (Buell) Becksted of Loleta, her son Nathan Becksted and his wife Julie (Jorgenson) Becksted of Medford, her son D.J. Becksted of Eureka and her daughter Kristin (Becksted) Ellis and her husband David Ellis of San Anselmo. She was also the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren who she adored: Blaine, Kyler and Luke Becksted of Loleta; Jared and Caitlyn Nolen of Loleta; Aidan and Avery Becksted of Medford and Harper and Bryan Ellis of San Anselmo. Gerrilyn was a devout Catholic her entire life, who enjoyed attending mass at Saint Bernard's Catholic Parish in Eureka. Her favorite pass time was attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. She regularly attended games at Eureka Little League, Babe Ruth, Eureka High School, Saint Bernard's High School, Ferndale High School and other youth sports throughout the area. Gerrilyn was an amazing mother and homemaker. She often had gatherings of family and friends around homemade meals. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice for their exceptional care. Also thank you to our family and friends for their love and support.
