At age 66 years, Gilbert Lewin died at St Joseph’s Hospital in Petaluma, California and passed through the gates of Heaven on May 30, 2015 at 8:30 am. He was born Fernando Gilberto Trujillo Zayas, to his Father, Ernesto Adriano Trujillo Salinas and Mother, Consuelo Zayas de la Garza, in Mexico City, Mexico on May 7, 1949. Gil came to the U.S. with his family on August 30, 1956 at the age of 6. Gil attended Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, California and served in the U.S. Army Europe, where he finished his GED High School requirements. (1966-69, Vietnam Era Veteran) Gilbert came home to become an excellent journeyman cabinet maker, a job where he would help create memorable kitchen cabinets. He loved his Giants and Forty Niners, but his favorite pastime was caring and playing with his pet chihuahua, Boo and his beloved tropical fish. Gil leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Christine Lewin, his older brother, Ernest Lewin (Reyna), and younger brother, Mario Lewin, his nephews & nieces; Ernest Lewin Jr of Sebastopol, David Lewin of Oakland, Michael Lewin of San Francisco, Skye Nicole Warden Jensen (Douglas) of Portland, Oregon, Gabriel Butler of Palo Alto, and Mario Alexander Lewin of Modesto. He also leaves his half-sisters, Rosa Maria Trujillo, Georgina Balderas, and Marisa Trujillo in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and countless number of cousins, nephews and nieces in Mexico. He is preceded in death by his Sister, Marcela Warden, (Gloria Marcela Trujillo Zayas), his Mother, Connie Noller, (Consuelo Zayas de la Garza), his Father, Ernesto Trujillo Salinas, and Grandmother, Consuelo de la Garza Acuna. I love you Brother, may you rest in Peace.
