Mrs. Gilda A. Donatelli 1923 - 2016NEW HARTFORD - Mrs. Gilda A. Donatelli, 93, of the Presbyterian Home and formerly of New Hartford, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, with her loving family by her side.She was born on June 11, 1923, in Utica, a daughter of the late Anthony and Filomena (Rainone) LaPolla. She was raised and educated in Utica. On June 22, 1946, she married Albert Donatelli, with whom she shared a 64 year loving marriage that was an inspiration to many who witnessed their special bond and true devotion to each other. Mr. Donatelli died on January 17, 2011. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro, where she and her husband actively volunteered.She was a wonderful homemaker. She kept a meticulous home and took great pride in sharing Italian traditions with her family. One could never leave her home hungry as she insisted you have at least "little bit" of her "potluck" or feasted on her Italian delicacies.She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and David Skop; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Albert and Tracey Skop - Evelyn and Jacob, and Don and Julie Landsmen - Sarah, Isabelle and Aubrey. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony P. Donatelli. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Anthony Donatelli and fiancee Jennifer, Tammy and Paul Filletti - Marissa, Donte and Gianna, Sandy and Steve Eberley - Travis and Marc; daughter-in-law, Peppy Stephens and her husband, Harry; she also leaves her sister, Maggie Zizzi, and a brother, Cosmo LaPolla. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne LaPolla, and two brothers, Sam LaPolla and Steve LaPolla.A special thanks to Christine, Becky, Diane, Cheyanne and Kim and the staff of the Willow Unit at The Presbyterian Home for their compassion and exceptional care given to Gilda and her family.Her funeral will be on Saturday (today) at 1:00 PM at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro. Visitation will be Saturday (today), prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
