LIGONIER — Gladys Marie Baugher, age 80, of Ligonier passed away on Sunday February 9, 2014, following an extended illness and a recent stroke at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky. She was born on February 10, 1934, the daughter of Harley Franklin and Dovie (Boeman) Ware. She was married to Day Baugher. He preceded her in death in July of 2000. She is survived by her children, Wanda (Al) McKinney of Nicholasville, Ky., Kathryn Day of Ligonier, Ind., and Mark A. Day Sr. of Ligonier; five grandchildren, Greg McKinney, Lisa Jeffers, Tonya Day, Mark Day Jr., and Michael Day; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Day. She was passionate about cooking and either managed or owned her own restaurant her entire working life. She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. In the church she was considered a prayer warrior and had always been a faithful and steadfast servant of Christ. She will always be remembered as someone who loved her family dearly, was always there for them, and placed the needs of others above her own. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier. Pastor Gary Lovens will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Ind. Family and friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Yeager Funeral Home.
