Gladys Hoilman BraswellWilliamsport, MD - Gladys Hoilman Braswell, 81, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Bakersville, NC passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Williamsport Retirement Village Williamsport, MD.She was born on July 25, 1935 in Bakersville, NC to the late Clarence and Zola Howell Hoilman.She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Braswell, Sr. on April 16, 2000.She was a 1955 graduate of Bowman High School of Bakersville, NC.She was a Homemaker.She attended Williamsport United Methodist Church Williamsport, MD for over 40 years where she sang on the Choir and attended Shepherd's Table and also attended services at Homewood while she was a resident there. She also was active with Bible studies, visiting residents and enjoyed activities with other residents while at Homewood. She formerly belonged to Silver Chapel Baptist Church of Bakersville, NC.Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cookouts and family gatherings.She is survived by her son James E. Braswell and his wife Brenda of Williamsport, MD; sister Mary Jean Duvall of Leicester, NC; grandchildren Christina Emery and her husband Justin of Williamsport, MD, Brian Braswell and fiancee' Autumn Stotler of Clear Spring, MD, Jared Braswell of Littlestown, PA, Andrew Braswell and his significant other Beth Crace of Grove, Oklahoma, great grandchildren Sadie Emery, Madison Emery and Alexander Braswell, step grandchildren Isaiah and Chloe, niece Debbie Morris and nephew David Duvall.She was predeceased by her son John Lewis Braswell, Jr. and her twin brother Glen "Bud" Hoilman.The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Susan E. Boehl officiating.
