She was born on March 17, 1936 to Essie Bradley and Leandrew Baker in Jacksonville, FL.Gladys came to New York in 1966 and worked for Astor Head Start for 28 years and after retirement, she worked for the Poughkeepsie School District. In 1946 she married Luchious McIntosh who predeceased her in 2005. She leave to cherish her memory; son, Dennis Baker; daughters, Monica McIntosh and Joyery Echols (Aldwin); 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Nesbitt.In addition to her husband, Gladys was predeceased by her daughters, Evelyn Walker, Mozella Latimer and Thressa McIntosh.Mrs. McIntosh will repose 10-11 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine Street, Poughkeepsie, NY.
