Gladys H. Potts, 81, of Forest Lake, PA, passed away peacefully at home March 25, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Her husband of 62 years, Delbert W. Potts, survives. She was born on September 9, 1932 in South Montrose, to the Albert Robert and Mildred Elizabeth Hughes. Also surviving are her five children and their spouses, Linda and Sonny Sivers, South Gibson, Glen and Dawn Potts, Springville, Daniel and Karol Potts, Montrose, Donald and Mary Potts, Montrose, Kim and James Eldred, Jr., Marysville, Wash.; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer (Ed) Lucas, Wendy (Jeff) Thomas, Timothy (Carrie) Sivers, Laura (Chad) Silverstrim, Michael (Sarah Potts, Amanda (Jason) Winans, Kristopher (Lisa) Stockholm, Dustin (Stacy) Dean, Kathryn Potts, Drusilla Potts, James III, Christopher, and Benjamin Eldred; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Helene and Steve Shultis, Stormville, N.Y., Doris Brainard, Hallstead; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lucy Hughes, Montrose; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Julie Ann Potts; four sisters; and two brothers.Gladys was a member of the FLBC where she also taught Sunday school. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1950. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing with others. She enjoyed playing softball in her teens, taking family vacations to Letourena Christian Camp, and for their 50th wedding anniversary, she and Delbert took a train to vacation in Outlook, Saskatchewan Canada. Gladys was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she loved to spend her time with her and family. Her special place at her home was on her front porch, usually spent there with her husband, Delbert.A Funeral Service was held Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Forest Lake Baptist Church, with the Reverends Ken Young and Mark King officiating. Interment will be in the Birchardville Cemetery. Visitations were held at the Church on Sunday afternoon.
