Gladys Johnson, 76, of Jefferson, Texas, passed on September 18, 2022 at her home, after a short illness. Her funeral service will be held this Thursday August 18, 2022 at St. George's Church, New Road, Chorley, Preston followed by internment at Hill Road Cemetery, Preston.

Gladys was born on May 12, 1946 in Jefferson, Texas to Mary and Graham Smith. She gained a first class law degree from Wiley College in 1970 and had a successful career as a practice lawyer specializing in family law. She married David Johnson on December 8, 1972. They raised 3 daughters and went on to foster more than 10 children. Mrs. Johnson moved to Austin in 1980 and was heavily involved in the local community working with disadvantaged children and was also a member of the local Rotar. In her spare time she enjoyed watercolor painting. 

Her family paid this tribute to her, 'Gladys was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many children over the years and she will be sorely missed.'
