AUBURN — Gladys "Sue" Widner, 76, of Auburn died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the Laurels of DeKalb Nursing Home in Butler. She was born on Nov. 5, 1936, in Denver, Indiana, to Merle and Edna (Roberts) Fetrow. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Widner, whom she married on Sept. 1, 1990. Sue and Chuck worked together as former groundskeepers at the DeKalb Memorial Hospital. Sue loved to sing, garden, and travel. Sue and Chuck enjoyed their retirement years in Florida, where she enjoyed spending time at the beach and with their many friends. They were active in the Auburn First United Methodist Church. Sue was a loving, sweet woman who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Also surviving are her two children, Jim "Al" (Sue) Woodcox of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Beth Terry of Fort Wayne; two stepchildren, Larry (Hope) Widner and Bev Oberlin, both of Auburn; a sister, Bonnie Lautzenhiser of North Manchester; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Maxine Beecher, Jim Fetrow, Lois Sherman, Orpher Tucker, Mary Jean Schwartz, Patricia Fetrow Cook and Barbara Fetrow; and a stepson, Daniel Widner. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. James Farrer will be officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the .
