WEST LIBERTY — Glen E. Myers, 80, of West Liberty, OH, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty. Glen was born on April 20, 1935 on the family farm outside of Lakeview, OH to the late John E. & Sarah F. Barns Myers. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James Everett, Dwight, Gerald, and John Clyde Myers, and a granddaughter, Rachael. On June 1, 1957, he married the former Nancy L. Puterbaugh in Dayton, OH and she survives along with four children, Sara (Dan) Bratka of Bellefontaine, OH, Leonard Myers of Troy, OH, Randal (Lilly) Myers of Lake Mary, FL, and Ronald Myers of Centerville, OH, nine grandchildren, Ben, Zac, Nathan, Caleb, Sierra, Amanda, Matthew, Alyssa, and Sierra, three great-grandchildren, Emma, Levi, and Adalynn, two sisters, Betty Dotson of Toledo, OH, and Freda Knight of West Jefferson, OH, a brother, Rev. Myron (Myra) Myers of Jamestown, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews. Glen was a 1953 valedictorian of Stokes Local Schools and was also a graduate of Edison State Community College. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1957-1959. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force base in 1999 after 32 years of service as an electronics technician. He enjoyed reading, growing tomatoes, and watching TV, especially sci-fi shows and war movies. Pastor Ronald Irick will conduct funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Tuesday, March 22nd from 5-8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH with military honors provided by the Wapakoneta VFW Post #8445 Honor Guard.
