Glenn Johannes Obituary

Mar 18, 1954 - Mar 16, 2017

This obituary is administered by:
Glenn Johannes, 62RockvilleMar. 18, 1954 - Mar. 16, 2017After an almost 3 year battle recovery from a traumatic brain injury, Glenn Johannes died on March 16th, 2017 at the St Cloud hospital.  He leaves behind a son and daughters, Ryan (Robin) of Berkeley, CA, Jenny of Rockville, and Melissa (Tom) of Waite Park; grandchildren, Tanner, Rhiannon and Griffin.  Mother; Mary Johannes. Brothers, Daryl (Kathie) Johannes, Mark (Bonnie) Johannes, Jeff Johannes (Mary Johannes), Chuck Johannes, and Troy Johannes; Sisters, Sharon (Jo Hudson) Johannes and Linda Johannes. His father preceded his death.Glenn was born on March 18, 1954 at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born to Robert and Mary (Kuebelbeck) Johannes.  He graduated from Rocori High School in 1972.Glenn was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of simple needs. He started his career as a stone mason, building beautiful mausoleums in almost every state in the US. He moved on to installing commercial garage doors for over 30 years. Glenn was a social man much loved by many. He was the "Norm" of his local taverns, the guy everyone wanted to talk to after they walked through the door. He loved hunting with his family, playing with his grandkids and listening to classic country songs.   Glenn cherished the farm and could be found "relaxing" by puttering around on his Bobcat or Massey Ferguson. Always tending to the animals, the vegetable gardens, and a myriad of other projects to keep him busy.  Boredom was not in his playbook, he was a hardworking man in all areas of his life.We are grateful for the time we had with him but are thankful the suffering is over and he can now be reunited with his wife.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Glenn requested to be cremated.  A celebration of life will be held at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Cold Spring.  It will take place on April 1, 2017 at 1pm; all are welcome.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Linda Johannes and Steve Link for all the care, love, and compassion they devoted to Glenn while he lived with them in Shakopee. Also, a big thank you to the amazing gifts of time, energy, service and money that have been given from the community, friends and family over the past few years.  An outpouring of blessings that have not gone unnoticed.
