Glenna Mae AllenZANESVILLE: Glenna Mae Allen, 79, of Zanesville, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Adams Lane Care Center.She was born on October 29, 1933 in Fultonham, Ohio a daughter of the late Algert and Freda Embrey. She graduated from Roseville High School in 1952 and worked at Standard Oil, Martha's Christian Bookstore, preschool teacher at Martins Ferry Christian Church, and founder of the Austin Christian Preschool in Austin, Indiana. She was a loving mother and devoted wife of 54 years. She enjoyed teaching children about the Bible, traveling, nature, and loved the church. She loved people and was a wonderful host for hundreds of ministers, missionaries, and evangelists.She is survived by her husband Donald Allen of Zanesville; one son Stephen (Carrie) Allen of Kokomo, Indiana; one daughter Janie (Erick) Haskell of New Delhi, India; six grandchildren Brooke Allen, Brett (Bruce) Cooley, Breanna Allen, Brice Allen, Lindsay Haskell, and Olivia Haskell; one great grandchild Mark Cooley.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Leonna Graham and Mana Spring; one grandchild Bradley Haskell.Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 5765 Gladstone Drive, White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 with Minister Bill Meaige officiating. Burial will be in Fultonham Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Terrace Church of Christ Bible Bowl.
