Gloria was born on March 8, 1950, to proud parents John and Margaret Simmions. From her early years, it was evident that Gloria possessed a spirited nature and a passion for life that would carry her through her journey with joy and resilience.

Growing up in Ahoskie, Gloria was active and engaged in her community, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her caring and compassionate nature drew friends and loved ones close, creating a strong support system that would remain with her throughout her lifetime.

After completing her education at Ahoskie High School, Gloria pursued her passion for art by attending the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City. Her artistic talents blossomed, and her unique perspective sparked a fascination with capturing the beauty she saw in the world.

Returning to Ahoskie, Gloria became a well-known and respected artist, showcasing her work at local galleries and exhibitions. Her paintings and sculptures touched the hearts of many, and she was recognized for her ability to evoke emotions through her art.

Gloria's love for her community extended beyond her artistic endeavors. She dedicated countless hours volunteering at local organizations, especially those supporting women's rights and the welfare of children.
