We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gloria Harris, who was born on November 12, 1940, in Houston, Texas, United States. She peacefully left this world on July 18, 2025. Gloria was the beloved daughter of Jebodiah Eli Fischer and Shirley Anne Fischer.

On the year 20, Gloria married the love of her life, Robert James Harris. They were blessed with two children, David S. Harris and Ebony S. Harris. Gloria adored her family, especially her grandchildren.

She attended Phillis Wheatley High School and graduated in 1958, paving the way for her higher education at Texas Southern University, from where she graduated in 1962. Gloria's passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring in 1998. She also played an active role in The Salvation Army organization, embodying her selfless and caring nature.

Aside from her professional achievements, Gloria found joy in simple pleasures like cooking, gardening, fishing, and hiking. Her adventurous spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all those around her.

Gloria Harris will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
