Steiner, GloriaGloria Paulina Emily (Andrasko) Steiner, age 93 of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on August 23, 2017. Gloria was born on May 23, 1924, to Richard and Dorothy (Pausig) Andrasko in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Her family moved to Fox Lake, Wisconsin in the 30's. She graduated from and Fox Lake High School in 1942, then Dodge County Normal two years later, and went on to teach at Fox Lake Country School. She met the love of her life, Andrew Lloyd Steiner, at a dance at the Fox Lake Community Center. Gloria and Andy were married on November 3, 1945, and had three children. While living in Fox Lake Gloria, along with her mother ran The Style Shop until 1960 and later worked at the Fox Lake Post Office. Gloria served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary and was active with the VFW and . She was a member of St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church - WELS, where she started the Lutheran Girl Pioneer program, taught Sunday School, and was active member of the Ladies Guild. She was one of the founding members of the Fox Lake Knitting Club. After Andrew's strokes in 1984 they moved to Oshkosh to be closer to family and health care facilities. Gloria was active in the Oshkosh Area Stroke Club, the , and the Oshkosh Chapter of the American Legion. After Andrew's passing, Gloria remained active in the Oshkosh Senior Center dance group, Senior Olympics, and volunteered at the War Birds Store during EAA. In her later years Gloria was active in the Carmel Senior Living Center community participating in many organizations, groups, and serving as librarian; she also participated in Grace Forever Young and was an active parishioner at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Gloria had a smile that was heartwarming, was known for her keen fashion sense and she touched the lives of all she met. She will be forever in the hearts of many. As one last gesture of giving, Gloria has donated her body to UW Madison for scientific research. Gloria will be sadly missed by her children Allen (Rhonda), Catherine (Doug) Boorman-Dodge, Amy (Allen) Mowry-Hepfner; Her grandchildren, Tara (Mike Parker) Porter, Katie Bailey, Andrew (Jennifer) Steiner, Trisha (Nels) Rose, Adam (Paula) Steiner, Rachel Hepfner and Christopher Hepfner , Heather (Will) Andersen, Amanda Dodge, Adam (Lindsey) Kreitzman, Trevor (Angie) Kreitzman, Kevin (Meghan) Kreitzman; also by her great grandchildren, Alex, Ty, Adele, Elise, Marit, Hannibal, Prudence, Destiny, Jackson, Haleigh, Emma, Carter, Claire, Charles, Addison, Logan, Brynn, Ava, Connor, Lexi, Hunter; a close friend, Clyde Neuenfeldt, Nora Steiner, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Oscar Mittelsteadt, special friend John Galicia, and countless dear friends and loved ones. A Memorial Celebration Service of her life will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 4:30 pm. A visitation will be held at the church, 338 North Eagle Street on Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Gloria has chosen for her remains to be cremated and ashes will be spread in the memorial garden at Lake View Memorial Park. A special thank you goes out to the staff and her many friends at Carmel Senior Living Center and Dr. Kerry Ahrens and staff at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. Memorials in honor of Gloria will be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
