It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Blades, who left this world on December 8, 2024, at the age of 55. Gordon was born on September 16, 1969, in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents Baden Powell Blades and Janice Raye Schooley Blades. He leaves behind his sisters Rebecca (Chuck) Aveux and Yolanda (Shawn) Riley, and a brother and partner in crime, Albert Blades .He also left behind a stepson Michael Fett,whom he considered his son.

Gordon was married to his beloved spouse Tracey Blades since 2009 and together they shared many years together. Gordon found joy in the company of his motorcycles and indulged in his passion for racing whenever he could.

He studied at Urbandale High School and later went on to work as a Union Cement Mason until his retirement in 2024. Gordon will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and love for life.

Although he may have left this world, Gordon will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Gordon.
