GORDON J. SWYSTUNGordon, late of Regina, passed away at his home with family by his side on Thursday, October 27, 2016 following a very brief time with cancer. He was predeceased by his loving wife Frances (Dobrowolski) less than one month prior, his parents Michael and Mary (Simianowski) and his brother Dave. Gordon is survived by his four daughters and eleven grandchildren, Jacquie (Steve Nash) and children Zach, Sarah, Sterling, Lauren and Garrett, Nikki (Dave) Plummer and their children Eric, Andrew, Steven and Brooklyn, Susie (Chad) Taylor and their children Georgia and Harrison, and Stacey (Marcel) Mann; and his sister Marlene (Harry) Maguss. He was born on March 31, 1940 in Regina. Gord spent a lifetime as a professional manager and facilities executive for SaskComp, which ultimately became Westbridge, ISM, and then IBM Canada. After retirement, he worked for nearly another 20 years with local companies such as Danka/Pitney Bowes and Ranch Ehrlo. Perhaps his proudest professional achievements were his completed facilities such as the ISM Computer Center on the campus of the University of Regina and the development of Casino Regina. It's with huge saddened hearts that we say farewell to the most amazing dad, papa and grandpa! The man who taught us the rules of life. He had a good life and we are grateful he shared it with us as long as he did. Dad was always so proud of us girls and let everyone know. Mom reached down to take him home, we know he's in God's hands. No more pain or missing Mom. Rest now Dad, we know you will be watching out for us. We love you more than you will ever know and will never forget you. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Parish, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Sathiadas Antony officiating. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Gordon to Christ the King Memorial Fund, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK S4S 1X8 or to Regina Qu'Appelle Palliative Care Services Fund, 1802 McAra Street, Regina, SK S4N 6C4.
