Grace Harris, aged 70, passed away peacefully on April 17 2023, at her residence in Franklin, Tennessee, United States. She was born on January 1, 1953, in Franklin, Tennessee, to her parents, John and Mary Harris. Grace had dedicated her life to serving others, and her loss is a significant loss to the community and those who knew and loved her.
Grace grew up in Franklin, Tennessee, where she attended Franklin High School, graduating in 1971. After a gap year, she decided to pursue a degree in nursing and enrolled at Vanderbilt University, where she graduated in 1976. One of Grace's most significant gifts was her passion for her work as a nurse, and she spent over two decades providing medical care for the residents of the Franklin-Tennessee community.
Grace was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, who always put the needs of others before her own. She was a kind and generous woman who had a great sense of humor and was always there for anyone in need. Grace never hesitated to offer a listening ear or a helping hand to those who needed it, and her selflessness and compassion touched the lives of many in her community.
Outside of work, Grace loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and exploring new places, but her favorite pastime was gardening. Grace had a green thumb and spent many hours tending to her beautiful flower garden, which was admired by all who passed by her house.
Grace was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Harris, and her brother, Michael Harris. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Adams, her brother-in-law, John Adams, her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Sarah, David, and Anthony, and several great-nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on April 21, 2023, to celebrate Grace's life and mourn her passing. Grace's family and friends are grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time and ask for privacy as they mourn their loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Grace's contributions to her profession and community will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
